BOTOX is 10 Years Old

BOTOX.  Need I say more? Well, let's talk about it anyway....
It is the world's most popular nonsurgical cosmetic treatment.
WOW! What a "phenomenon"!!!!
Reading Allure magazine, I realized Botox is having a birthday!
Officially it started ten years ago when Botox received FDA approval for cosmetic use. It was, at first, thought of fearfully... that people would look like mannequins and expressionless, but that idea rapidly changed.
Botox has since become the tip of the iceberg, opening the door for many injectable fillers and who knows what else. Regardless, Botox is the most incredible, tiny, quick, in office procedure that can make subtle and significant changes to your face. The words subtle and significant are key.  If injected correctly, it corrects signs of aging like magic.  The botulinum toxin type A is a muscle paralyzing (weakening) drug that can soften expression lines and wrinkles.  It does not have to make you look like a deer in headlights or mask like.
The risk is not really in the substance, but with the injector. It takes experience and an artistic hand.  A natural, refreshed look can be achieved.  My goal is to have a patient look really "good for their age", not necessarily "not their age". One of the great things about Botox is, if you don't like it, it wears off and you are no worse off and if you like it, you schedule a quick appointment about every 3-4 months  Personally, if I was limited to only one in office treatment, Botox would be at the top of my list.
Hope this helps,
Liz
